How we work

How an OOH buy is decided.

We do not own the sites. We plan the outdoor buy across owners — objective, catchment, comparison, negotiation — then run and document it. Outdoor first; the rest only when the objective needs it.

The ten steps

Independence

A media owner sells what it holds. We have nothing to fill, which is why we can argue against a site as easily as for one. Starting at the commercial model is how a budget gets spent before a plan exists.

Outdoor first

Four ways a plan actually spends money.

Activations and barter sit after these. A plan that uses every capability is usually a plan that has not made a decision.

  • An Agra arterial at commute hour, a roadside hoarding and traffic on the carriageway

01 · Plan the outdoor buy

    Outdoor & Transit

Large-format and transit media planned around how a city actually moves — arterial corridors, commuter routes and the approaches to retail catchments.

Three times on one commute beats once across a city.

Hoarding · Unipole · Gantry · Bus queue shelter · Bus back and bus side · Pole kiosk · Auto and cab branding

How we plan outdoor & transit

  • A glass office tower above a pedestrian plaza at an Indian commercial hub

    02 · Time the screens

    Digital Out-of-Home

Digital screens bought by daypart and location rather than by month, so weight lands when the audience is present.

The same screen is a different product at nine and at four.

LED façade · Portrait screen · Ribbon display · In-mall network · Programmatic DOOH

    How we plan digital out-of-home

  • A mall atrium with a hanging light installation and shoppers already in the space

    03 · Plan the catchment

    Retail & Hyperlocal

Media placed inside the trade area of a specific store or cluster, planned from catchment data rather than city-level reach.

Draw the catchment first. The panel is what you go and get.

Mall fascia · Atrium branding · Lift panel · Society gate arch · Store catchment cluster

How we plan retail & hyperlocal

  • An empty cinema, red seats facing a dark screen

    04 · Add traditional weight

    Broadcast, Print & Cinema

Traditional weight where it still carries a market — regional news, radio drive-time, dailies and cinema on-screen.

The right title in Kanpur is not the right one in Kochi.

Cinema on-screen · Regional news television · FM radio, drive time · Daily press

The sequence

Ten steps between the brief and a board that actually ran.

We do not own inventory. Each step is a decision we can argue — which is the only reason a brand should let us spend its money.

  1. 01

    Brand objective

Launch, defend, footfall or presence. The buy is an output of this, not a site list.

  2. 02

    Audience and catchment

Who must see it, and on which movements. Corridor before site.

  3. 03

    Market intelligence

How this city moves — owners, permissions, seasonality — not a national rate card.

  4. 04

    Access to owners

We buy across media owners. There is no mandate to fill anyone’s unsold.

  5. 05

    Comparison

The same brief, more than one owner, argued on position and dwell.

  6. 06

    Negotiation

Rates disclosed to you. Independence is the reason we can walk away.

  7. 07

    The plan

Site-by-site reasoning you can interrogate. You approve before it is booked.

  8. 08

    Optimisation

Weight moves if the audience does. Digital by daypart; static by corridor hold.

  9. 09

    Execution

Printing, mounting, permissions. The plan is not the campaign until it is up.

  10. 10

    Measurement

Geo-tagged photographs, mid-flight checks, a file you can forward.

How we buy

What a Media Director can diligence before the brief.

The desk is built for market-by-market and corridor plans. A two-lakh local flex is usually better served locally. An eight-crore national AOR pitch is not this room. We will say so.

  1. Owners are RFPd, not inherited

The same brief goes to more than one owner. There is no mandate to fill anyone’s unsold. We buy DMRC in Delhi, BEST buses in Mumbai, CMRL in Chennai from the operators and concessionaires who hold them — as access, not as inventory we list.

  2. Rates are disclosed to you

You see what we are being quoted. Independence is the reason we can walk away from a site, and the reason the number on the plan is the number that was negotiated, not a mark-up on unsold.

  3. Lead times are named in the plan

Static outdoor needs printing and mounting windows. Digital can go live once creative is approved. Transit and mall media follow the concessionaire’s calendar. We write the real window, not a generic SLA for every format.

  4. Permissions sit in the plan

Municipal sky-sign, police NOC for illumination, transit concessionaire terms. The city pages name the authority. The plan names who files, and quotes compliance separately rather than burying it.

  5. Production is not a surprise invoice

Printing, flexing and mounting are in the plan before sites are booked. A cheaper proposal that omits them is not cheaper.

  6. Staffing a multi-city buy

Planning is led from Kanpur. Local supervisors and owner operations run mounting and mid-flight checks. You deal with one desk, not a franchise list.

When to spend it elsewhere

Each of these has a wrong use.

  • Outdoor & Transit

If you need a measurable click within a fortnight, buy performance media instead. Outdoor builds familiarity and salience, and it needs continuity to do it. We will tell you when a short outdoor burst is the wrong instrument rather than sell you one.

  • Digital Out-of-Home

If the site only justifies one creative and one daypart, a static placement will usually deliver more presence for the same money. Digital earns its premium when you use what makes it digital.

  • Retail & Hyperlocal

If the brand has no physical point of purchase and no geographically concentrated audience, this layer will underperform a broader outdoor plan. Hyperlocal earns its keep when there is somewhere specific for the audience to go.

  • Broadcast, Print & Cinema

If your audience is young, urban and streaming-first, most of this will underdeliver against digital and outdoor. These media are precise instruments for particular markets, not a default layer to add for completeness.
